Last week was another week that felt like a year. Shadowcliff was spared in the East Troublesome Fire. It's amazing, a miracle, and I have a lot of gratitude for the hard work of firefighters.
While I am pleased for our good fortune, this fire was devastating and so many people lost everything!
When the Shadowcliff board met this Monday we talked about survivors guilt. And so many feelings go along with that - how can we embrace joy for our own good fortune while others are suffering so terribly?
Where do we go from here?
How might we reframe our feelings of survivors guilt so we are contributing in positive ways to our community in Grand Lake?
These are the reflections I pondered in this week's video.
It is possible to both honor and acknowledge suffering while also experiencing the uplifting power of hope.
These are the tensions we will explore in tomorrow's Journal Jam - how to move from stress and overwhelm to feeling hopeful!
