Summer is upon us! Now is a great time to curl up in a hammock under the shade of a tree and read a good book. Like many a nerd, I have a growing stack of unread books piling up, and yet I sometimes struggle to find just the right reading material. While interesting at first, not all books that entice me to crack them open are engaging enough to finish!
In fact, my inability to finish non-fiction books was a large source of inspiration for starting EntrepreNerds. I need accountability. There are some books I eagerly read from start to finish. But many of the books I need to read to stay sharp as an entrepreneur I would never finish if it weren’t for EntrepreNerds Book Discussions.
Deciding on what book to read when there are so many choices out there is overwhelming and daunting. I personally like books that provide a blend of storytelling with intellectual insights. Sometimes I will lean more towards memoirs, other times I will yearn for the more classic business book and in other instances I want to read a self-help book of sorts. This is the kind of blend of books we have been reading in EntrepreNerds for the last four years (2015, 2014).
In the past, I have researched and established the EntrepreNerds reading list on my own. I usually research new titles and get suggestions from other nerds that get incorporated into a long reading list. Then I would brainstorm some criteria about what I wanted to learn and evaluate each book to select the reading list. This year I have done lots of research and I have gotten many recommendations, but I am asking for your help whittling down the reading list…
These are the books that I am interested in reading and discussing with EntrepreNerds this year. What books do you want to read and discuss? What kinds of insights are you yearning for to enlighten your entrepreneurial journey? Share your preferences in the comments below and we will co-create this years EntrepreNerds reading list together!
