2016 E+ Awards
Recognizing three people a year that are courageously challenging the status quo, taking risks and creating a positive impact.
The recipients for the 2016 E+ Awards will be announced on January 1, 2017!
Here are some examples of things people can be nominated for: a book, a blog, a video, a program, a project, a community effort, a small act of kindness, an innovative business model, a social enterprise, founding a unique nonprofit, establishing a new vernacular, creating a model, making IP open source, etc. etc. etc.
The E+ Awards started in 2013. After Ariana received numerous requests for book recommendations, she decided to do something different than the typical top 10 lists. More specifically, she wanted to do something that represented what the EntrepreNerds community was all about. And so, she awarded three books with the inaugural E+ Awards for taking a risk, challenging the status quo and creating something of unique value. Three more books received the 2014 E+ Awards.
In the last few years, the EntrepreNerds programming has evolved, becoming more than just a business book club. And the E+ Awards have followed suite. In 2015 the awards expanded by:
- Recognizing People for More Than Just Books
- Making a Call for Nominations
- Partnering with Fort Collins High School Students to Select Award Recipients
You too can be a part of our transformation by nominating someone(s) you know for a 2015 E+ Awards.
E+ was the elusive grade in school. The one many of us felt should exist yet it never did. Think about it, grades are like a chromatic scale except we skip E all together so we can give people F’s for Failure, the modern Scarlet Letter. Not so ironically, we all must learn to better embrace and celebrate failure. The E+ says: You took a risk, challenged the status quo, and had the courage to show authentically when you could have completely failed. The E+ Award is for people that have done those things and created something uniquely valuable as a result. Oh, E also happens to stand for EntrepreNerds.
